Ice Machine Cleaner Instructions
Empty The Machine
Residential Ice Machines
Turn off the ice machine and empty any ice inside the bin or dispenser.
Commercial Ice Machines
Turn off the ice machine and empty any ice inside the bin or dispenser.
Remove Other Water Or Ice
Residential Ice Machines
If your ice maker has a drain cap, unscrew it and let the water drain from the machine.
Replace the drain cap after the water has drained.
Commercial Ice Machines
Remove the front panel and evaporator cover from the ice machine.
Allow time for ice to melt off the evaporator grid.
Add The Cleaning Solution
Residential Ice Machines
Pour 2-4oz of ice machine cleaning solution into the water pan.
Fill the water pan to the max fill line with clean water to dilute the formula.
Commercial Ice Machines
Activate the machine’s clean cycle.
Once the water trough has filled, add 4oz of ACTIVE Ice Machine Cleaner solution.
Run Cleaning Cycles
Residential Ice Machines
Activate the cleaning cycle on the machine.
After the cleaning cycle is complete, drain any remaining water from the drain pan.
Run one more cleaning cycle.
Commercial Ice Machines
After the first cleaning cycle is complete, run a second cleaning cycle to remove any remaining residue and debris.
Wipe The Interior Areas
Residential Ice Machines
Wipe the inside of the ice bin to remove water and loose debris.
Your machine is now ready to resume ice production.
Commercial Ice Machines
Wipe down all interior and exterior surfaces with diluted cleaning solution.
You may now resume ice production with your freshly cleaned machine.
Usage Tips
- For most average ice machines, we recommend cleaning with ACTIVE Ice Machine Cleaner once every two months.
- Heavily used ice machines may require more frequent cleaning.
- Be sure to rinse any areas that have contacted the cleaning solution as best as possible to avoid aftertaste.

This cleaner is not compatible with built-in refrigerator ice machines.
No, this cleaner is only designed for use with dedicated ice machine appliances. It cannot be used with ice makers that are built-in to refrigerators or freezers.
For machines with average usage, we recommend cleaning your ice machine with ACTIVE once every two months.
Commercial ice makers or heavily used machines may require more frequent cleaning.
One bottle of our Ice Machine Cleaner contains 32oz of cleaning liquid. The amount of solution required for one cleaning session is 4oz.
