How to Boost Your Dish Detergent with ACTIVE

Add Dish Detergent & Booster

Load your dishwasher with dishes and add your regular dishwasher detergent to the main compartment as usual.

Sprinkle 1-2 scoops of ACTIVE Dishwasher Detergent Booster into the pre-wash compartment. If your dishwasher doesn’t have a pre-wash area, sprinkle the powder directly into the bottom of the dishwasher.

1 Scoop = For regular use, everyday dishwashing and light mineral buildup.

2 Scoops = For heavy film, spots or hard water.

This product is intended to use in conjunction with your normal dishwasher detergent. It is not a standalone cleaner.

Run the Dishwasher

Run the dishwasher on your desired wash cycle.

Pre-Soak Instructions

Some heavily-scaled dish ware may require a pre-soak to loosen and remove stubborn residue.

Fill a sink or bucket with warm water.
Add 2-3 scoops of ACTIVE Dish Detergent Booster and stir to dissolve.
Submerge items and soak for 2-3 hours to loosen mineral deposits.
Rinse thoroughly, then wash items in the dishwasher as usual.

Note: Do not soak aluminum, soft-metal items, or delicate stone.

Why should I use this?

If your dishes are coming out cloudy, scaly, or just plain dirty, then your dishwasher detergent may not be powerful enough on its own.

ACTIVE Dishwasher Detergent Booster is designed to give your detergent an extra punch for those tough stains. It’s great for dish stains and film caused by:

Hard water
Limescale
Other minerals
Food residue and more

Where do I put the dish detergent booster?

If your dishwasher has a pre-wash dispenser compartment, add 1-2 scoops of detergent booster there.

If not, sprinkle the powder directly into the bottom of your dishwasher.

Does this powder contain any fragrance?

No, this dish detergent booster is fragrance-free.

I used this booster but my dishes are still cloudy, now what?

There are two main possibilities if your dishes are still cloudy after using the booster.

The dishes are just heavily scaled and will require a pre-soak.
The dishes are permanently etched.

Start by following these pre-soak instructions:

Fill a sink or bucket with warm water.
Add 2-3 scoops of ACTIVE Dish Detergent Booster and stir to dissolve.
Submerge items and soak for 2-3 hours to loosen mineral deposits.
Rinse thoroughly, then wash items in the dishwasher as usual.

The pre-soak followed by a normal wash should fix any dishes with heavy mineral residue or hard water stains.

If the pre-soak and wash does not work, the glassware is likely permanently etched. Etching means that the surface of the glass has been microscopically scratched or “eaten away” – usually from a combination of soft water, high heat, and too much detergent.

Unfortunately this is irreversible and no amount of detergents, boosters, or cleaning will fix it.

Can I run my dishwasher with only this detergent booster?

Technically you can do this, it won’t harm anything. However the results may not be ideal.

This product is intended to be used in conjunction with your normal dishwasher detergent. It is not meant to be used as a standalone cleaner (except for the pre-soak method).
