Halara Washing Instructions: Dresses, Pants, Leggings & More

May 2, 2024

Halara clothing is machine washable on a cold, gentle cycle. For the best results, use a laundry bag for their leggings and pants. Tumble dry on low or air dry – just avoid high heat, which can damage the fabric. Do not iron.

More About Halara

Halara was founded by Joyce Zhang, a Hong Kong-based entrepreneur, in 2020. The brand focuses on affordability and has quickly risen in popularity over the past several months, thanks to several successful campaigns on Instagram and TikTok.

Product-wise, they offer a variety of clothing from leggings to yoga pants. They’re also known for their dresses, which many people describe as being ‘good value for the price’.

Caring For Halara Products

The way you wash your clothes will determine how long they’ll last. For example, some items are hand wash only while others can be tossed in the washing machine.

Halara products are no exception. While most of their products are machine washable, it never hurts to double-check the care tag before washing.

Halara Pants Washing Instructions

Machine Washing Halara Yoga Pants and Leggings

Their leggings and yoga pants are made of a polyester, cotton, and elastane blend, which makes them machine-washable.

Step 1: Use a Laundry Bag

Placing a laundry bag into the washing machine

Turn the pants inside out – that will help protect the outside fabric and prevent it from wearing out during the wash cycle – and place them in a mesh laundry bag before loading them in the washer. The bag will provide your garments with an additional layer of protection by acting as a physical barrier.

If you’re running a load with other items, add the rest of your clothes.

Step 2: Add Detergent

Once everything is in the machine, add a scoop of ACTIVE Laundry Detergent powder. Don’t use bleach or fabric softener – they could harm your Halara garments.

Step 3: Run a Cold Wash Cycle

Choose a cold water setting and run a delicate cycle. It’s best not to use a normal cycle as the agitation may cause the fabric to wear out prematurely.

Step 4: Let Them Air Dry

While you can tumble dry on low, it’s best to let them dry naturally on a drying rack as high temperatures can damage the fibers over time. We also recommend keeping the pants away from direct sunlight as the rays can cause the colors to fade.

Supply:

  • ACTIVE Detergent
  • Laundry bag
  • Drying rack

Remember to sort your clothes based on color if you’re washing a mixed load.

Hand-Washing Halara Yoga Pants and Leggings

You can also wash your yoga pants and leggings by hand. It might take a bit more effort but it’ll be gentler on the fabrics.

Supplies:

  • ACTIVE Detergent
  • Water
  • Drying rack

Step 1:

Start by preparing a bath. Fill a sink with warm or cool water and mix one half scoop of ACTIVE Detergent once it’s two-thirds full.

You may have to swish or agitate the water a few times to dissolve the powder.

A scoop of ACTIVE detergent powder

Step 2:

Turn the pants inside out and carefully place them in the soapy water – the entire item should be completely immersed in the solution.

Gently rub the fabric with your hands to remove any loose dirt or debris and let it soak for 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 3:

Drain the sink and rinse the pants under the faucet. Continue to rinse until the water runs clear – there should be no soap residue left on the fabric.

Step 4:

Lightly press the pants against the edge of the sink to remove excess water.

Let the pants dry on a clothesline or drying rack.

Avoid using the dryer – you don’t want to expose the materials to unnecessary heat.

Never twist or wring your yoga pants or leggings as that will stretch out and damage the elastic fibers – to the point where it may affect their fit.

Washing Halara Dresses the Right Way

Machine Washing Your Halara Dress

With their dresses, you want to be more careful as they tend to have straps, which can get caught or tangled with your other laundry. Still, you can launder these items the same way as their yoga pants – either by machine washing or hand washing.

Supplies:

  • Large laundry bag
  • ACTIVE Detergent
  • Drying rack or clothesline

Step 1:

Turn your dress inside out and place it in a washable laundry bag.

Don’t place it directly in the tub – the straps can get caught on your other garments during the wash cycle.

Make sure the bag is closed and place it in the washing machine.

If you’re washing with other clothes, add your other items at this time – just remember not to mix darks with lights.

Step 3:

Measure a single scoop of ACTIVE Detergent and add it to the tub. Skip the bleach and softener – both will do more harm than good to the fabric.

Avoid putting your dress in the dryer – the high heat can cause the fabric to wear out prematurely.
