There are two main possibilities if your dishes are still cloudy after using the booster.
- The dishes are just heavily scaled and will require a pre-soak.
- The dishes are permanently etched.
Start by following these pre-soak instructions:
- Fill a sink or bucket with warm water.
- Add 2-3 scoops of ACTIVE Dish Detergent Booster and stir to dissolve.
- Submerge items and soak for 2-3 hours to loosen mineral deposits.
- Rinse thoroughly, then wash items in the dishwasher as usual.
The pre-soak followed by a normal wash should fix any dishes with heavy mineral residue or hard water stains.
If the pre-soak and wash does not work, the glassware is likely permanently etched. Etching means that the surface of the glass has been microscopically scratched or “eaten away” – usually from a combination of soft water, high heat, and too much detergent.
Unfortunately this is irreversible and no amount of detergents, boosters, or cleaning will fix it.

I just put a scoop in the prewash section and run the dishwasher like normal. No extra work, but the dishes look way better

New customer here, I was tired of pulling “clean” glasses out of the dishwasher and still having them look dirty as all heck. I added active dish detergent booster with my normal pod and after a few washes the glasses looked so much clearer.

We have hard water and it shows on everything, especially cups and silverware. This citric booster made a noticeable difference without changing my regular detergent.
