How to Clean Your Single-Cup Coffee Maker with ACTIVE

Insert Cleaning Pod

Open the pod holder and place one cleaning pod inside.

Run Brew Cycle

Select the largest cup size and run a single brew cycle into a cup.

Remove Cleaning Pod

After brew cycle is complete, open the pod holder, remove the pod and discard it.

Close the pod holder and run another brew cycle with the pod holder empty.

Wipe Clean

After the empty brew cycle is finished, open the pod holder. Use a cloth or wipe to remove any loosened residue in the pod holder area.

Here are some FAQ’s about our Coffee Cleaning Pods. If you don’t see your question answered below, please reach out to our customer service.

Over time, leftover coffee oils, along with other residue and scale can build up inside the pod holder of your machine. These contaminants get mixed into your cup when you brew a fresh pod, affecting the taste of your coffee.

Cleaning this area regularly helps preserve the taste of your coffee and maintains the performance of your machine.

ACTIVE Coffee Cleaning Pods are designed to be compatible with all single-serve coffee machines, including Keurig® 1.0 & 2.0 makers. If your machine accepts standard K-Cup® pods, then our cleaning pods should also be compatible.

Note, these pods are not compatible with Nespresso® machines.

We recommend using one cleaning pod after every 30 cups of coffee or at least once a month to maintain cleanliness and performance.

ACTIVE Coffee Cleaning Pods are designed to clean the pod holder area, funnel and exit needle. The cleaning formula does not reach the water lines and other internal areas of your machine.

For comprehensive cleaning and maintenance, we recommend using these pods in conjunction with our Coffee Maker Cleaner tablets for internal cleaning and descaling.

If your machine is clogged and won’t dispense any coffee at all, it’s usually a sign that the dispenser needle is clogged. In this case, we recommend trying to manually clear the clog (carefully, using a paperclip or other narrow object) prior to running a cleaning pod.

    partly my fault but i didnt realize this product doesnt descale inside the machine – it just cleans out the top part! what is the point of that I can just wipe it out myself!!!
