How to Wash Victoria’s Secret PINK Activewear

Victoria’s Secret is a popular lingerie brand that offers a variety of panties and bras, as well as swimwear, fragrances, and beauty products.
The company, which is based in Columbus, Ohio, was founded by Roy Raymond and his wife in the late ’70s.
Allegedly, he had come up with the idea after buying lingerie at a department store. Embarrassed with the whole ordeal, he sought to create his own lingerie brand – one that would make men feel more comfortable with lingerie shopping.
After studying the market for a few years, he launched Victoria’s Secret, which was named after Queen Victoria, in 1977.
Not long afterward, the brand opened its first store in Palo Alto, California.
Since then, they have opened more than 1,000 retail stores across the globe, over a dozen of which are independently owned. As of 2025, the company operates in more than 50 different countries.
About Victoria’s Secret PINK Line
In 2002, the company launched a new lingerie line called PINK, which is targeted toward younger women.
Similar to Victoria’s Secret, they sell intimates, in addition to loungewear, swimsuits, sleepwear, and beauty products.
Over the years, they have worked with several spokesmodels including Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Grace Elizabeth, and Zuri Tibby. Since 2006, the brand has also been featured in the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

PINK is a little cheaper than their parent line, with many panties being under $10. Their bras are also reasonable at a little over $30.
Taking Care of Victoria’s Secret PINK Clothing
As with all intimates, the way you wash them can determine how long they’ll last.
For example, it’s always better to hand wash panties than machine wash. With that said, machine washing is an option as long as you take the proper steps.
That means washing them separately from your other clothes and using cold water and a gentle detergent. There are also other things to consider, which we will be going over later.
Fabrics Used by Victoria’s Secret’s PINK Line
PINK uses a variety of fabrics for its products. The majority of their items, however, are made out of synthetic material. Here’s what you need to know about these fibers:
Synthetic Materials
Polyamide
Polyamide was originally designed as an alternative to silk, which makes it softer and more flexible than other man-made fibers.
Not only is it absorbent but the material is also resistant to stains and wrinkles. Despite being easy to care for, it dries more slowly compared to other synthetics such as polyester.
Nylon
Nylon is durable and soft and can be used in almost any type of clothing.
Having said that, it is usually used in activewear due to its stretch and elasticity. More often than not, it is combined with other synthetic fibers such as lycra or spandex.
Polyester
Polyester is strong and durable and does not wear down as quickly as cotton. As a synthetic fiber, it is flexible and resistant to wrinkles and staining. It’s also less expensive than other options.
Spandex
Spandex is one of the stretchiest materials out there. For this reason, it is often used in swimwear, dancewear, and activewear. More often than not, it is blended with other fibers such as polyester or cotton. Some of its other names include elastane and Lycra.

Natural Fibers
While the majority of their clothes are made out of synthetic fabrics, some do contain natural fibers.
Cotton
Cotton is soft and stretchy, which makes it comfortable to wear. It’s also absorbent and provides thermal insulation, which protects the wearer from heat and cold.
Plus, it’s hypoallergenic, meaning it won’t irritate the skin.
The Best Way to Wash Victoria’s Secret PINK Underwear
Washing Victoria’s Secret PINK Underwear by Hand
As a general rule, you should always wash their underwear by hand. That’s the gentlest and best option if you want them to last.
Step 1: Create a Detergent Solution
Fill a large sink or container with cool water and add a small amount of ACTIVE Detergent. Swish the water a few times to dissolve the powder.
Step 2: Soak the Garments
Place the underwear in the detergent mixture, making sure the whole thing is submerged. Let it soak for 15-20 minutes.
Step 3: Rinse With Water
Gently rub the fabric with your hands to loosen any remaining oils and dirt. Pay extra attention to the gusset area.
Rinse with cool water afterwards. Continue to rinse until there’s no more soap residue left on the fabric.
Step 4: Air Dry the Garments
Gently press out the excess water then hang the undergarments on a clothesline and let them air dry. You can also use a drying rack.

Never put your underwear into the dryer – that is the easiest way to ruin them.

Washing their Underwear in the Washing Machine
While hand washing is preferred, you can run them through the washer as long as you take the proper steps.
Supplies:
- Lingerie bag
- ACTIVE Detergent
- Clothesline or drying rack
Step 1:
Place the underwear in a mesh lingerie bag – that will prevent them from getting snagged and damaged in the wash.
Step 2:
Place the lingerie bag in the washing machine, then add the rest of your laundry. Remember not to mix darks with lights as that can lead to dye transfer.
Step 3:
Add one scoop of ACTIVE Detergent.
Do not use fabric softener; it will cover the material with a waxy layer, which will affect its breathability.
Step 4:
Run a delicate wash cycle. Make sure to use cold water; avoid using hot water as you don’t want to expose your PINK underwear to unnecessary heat.
Step 5:
Once the cycle is finished, air dry the undergarments on a drying rack or clothesline.
How to Wash Victoria’s Secret Bra
Hand-washing Bras Properly
Hand washing is your best bet when it comes to bras – this is especially true if it contains padding.
Supplies:
- ACTIVE Detergent
- Water
- Drying rack
Step 1:
Fill a sink or tub with cool water, then add a bit of ACTIVE Detergent.
Swish the water with your hands a few times to dissolve the powder.
Step 2:
Once the detergent is dissolved, place your sports bra in the solution. For the best results, let it soak for at least 15 minutes.
Step 3:
Gently rub the bra after soaking to remove any remaining dirt or oils.
Rinse with cool water afterwards, until it runs clear.
Step 4:
Gently press out the excess water, then let it air dry on a drying rack. You can also lay it flat to dry.
Never twist or wring your bra as that will permanently damage the fabric.
If your sports bra has removable padding, you can take it out and wash it separately.
Washing Victoria’s Secret Bras in the Washer
While hand washing is best, you can also put them in the washing machine with other delicate items.
Supplies:
- Lingerie bag
- ACTIVE Detergent
- Drying rack
Step 1:
Place the bra in a mesh lingerie bag – that will prevent it from getting misshape during the wash cycle.
Before you do, though, remember to fasten all the clasps and closures to avoid snags.
Step 2:
Load the lingerie bag into the washing machine. If you’re washing a mixed load, add the rest of your items.
Step 3:
Add one scoop of ACTIVE Detergent to the drum. Do not use fabric softener.
Step 4:
Run a gentle cycle with cold water. Do not use hot water – the heat can damage the fabric.
Step 5:
When the cycle is finished, take the bras out and lay them flat to dry. Alternatively, you can use a drying rack.
Tips for Washing their Cotton Blend Clothing
- Oil stains can be difficult to get out with cotton polyester blends. Your best option is to use a stain remover. Rubbing a bit of extra ACTIVE Detergent onto the stain before soaking the item might also help.
- Cotton blends are more durable than cotton. However, you should always wash them with a delicate cycle.
- Always read the care label for the proper washing instructions.
- Cotton polyester blends are less likely to shrink than those that are 100% cotton. With that said, it’s always a good idea to skip the dryer if you want them to last.
