How to Properly Wash Golf Shirts

How to Wash Golf Shirts
Golf shirts are essentially polo shirts – there’s just one main difference: the fabric. Instead of cotton, golf shirts are typically made of synthetic fabrics, which gives them moisture-wicking properties.
Washing Instructions for Golf Shirts and Polos
As a general rule, you want to wash your golf shirts after a day out on the golf course. Here are the steps on how to machine wash them.
Step 1: Prep the Shirt
Start by buttoning up all the buttons – that will prevent the collar from being deformed during the wash cycle. Next, turn the polo shirt inside out and place it in a mesh laundry bag. That will prevent it from rubbing against your other synthetic garments while they’re being washed.
Step 2: Load It Into the Machine
Zip up the laundry bag, and toss it into the washing machine, along with your other laundry.
Step 3: Add ACTIVE Detergent
Measure one scoop of ACTIVE Detergent powder and add it in, either directly into the tub or detergent drawer.
Step 4: Run the Washing Machine
Choose a gentle washing setting and run a cold water cycle. Avoid using hot water – the heat. Always will damage your golf shirts’ technical fibers. Also, skip the fabric softener – it will ruin your active wear clothes’ sweat-wicking finish.
Step 4: Let Them Air Dry
Take the golf shirts out of the machine once the cycle is done and let them air dry on a clothesline or drying rack. Do not put them in the dryer and keep them away from direct sunlight.

You can wash your golf shirt with other clothing (ideally with only other synthetic fabrics) as long as you separate everything based on color.

How to Clean Performance Golf Shirts by Hand
You can also manually wash your golf shirts by hand.
Supplies:

- Clean towel
Step 1:
Start by filling a container or the sink with cool water.

Step 2:
Carefully put your golf shirt in once it’s thoroughly mixed. You might have to press down gently to put the entire thing in the water.
Leave it in the solution for 15 to 30 minutes.
Step 3:
Wash the fabric by massaging it between your fingers, paying extra attention to stains if there are any.
Then rinse with cold water. Continue until the water runs clear.
Step 4:
Transfer your golf shirt onto a clean surface once it’s clean. Using a towel, press out some of the excess water before hanging it up to dry.
You can also drape it over a drying rack. Allow it to air dry; do not put it in the dryer.
How to Remove Golf Shirt Stains

Step 1:

Step 3:
Rinse the stain with clean water, then launder the item as normal.
