WodoWei is a clothing brand that specializes in activewear—more specifically, women’s activewear. As far as we can tell, they’ve been selling on Amazon since 2019. Some of their products are also available at Walmart and other retailers.
Note: Their clothing comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee if you order through Amazon. Just contact their customer service team!
What Kind of Women’s Clothing Do They Offer?
WodoWei is perhaps best known for their high-waisted leggings, all of which are seamless and squat-proof. They’re available in many colors and patterns as well from black to pink. Keep in mind, however, that there are only three sizes to choose from: small, medium, and large.
Aside from the leggings, they also offer sports bras and crop tops. If you want, you can even get a two-piece set, which includes a sports bra and a pair of leggings. If anything, it’s actually cheaper than getting the individual pieces separately.
Caring For Your WodoWei Items
As a general rule, you want to wash their products after each wear. This is especially important if you’ve been working
out at the gym. You don’t want to leave your tops and bottoms lying around on the floor soaked with sweat. Not only will that attract bacteria, but it’ll also lead to an unpleasant odor.
If you don’t have time to wash the items right away, air them out. Hang them on a laundry rack, clothesline—even a chair will help.
And be careful when you’re actually doing the washing. Always check the care tag label before throwing them in the machine. It’ll tell you everything you need to know regarding how to wash the item, from the ideal water temperature to whether or not it can be put in the dryer.
What Materials Are Their Clothes Made Of?
Their activewear is made from various synthetic fiber blends. Take their high-waisted leggings, for example, they’re 75% polyester and 25% spandex. Their workout pants, on the other hand, are 87% nylon and 13% spandex. Here’s a brief summary of the different materials:
Polyester: Polyester is a man-made fiber that’s made from petroleum. A type of plastic, it’s known for being durable and inexpensive to produce. It’s also flexible, lightweight, and resistant to wrinkles. On top of that, it’s moisture-wicking (ie. it has the ability to pull sweat from the skin). It can also be blended with other fibers such as cotton to create more breathable clothing.
Spandex: Spandex is different from other fibers in that it’s super elastic (it can easily stretch up to five times its original length). It’s also strong, lightweight, and abrasion, resistant, which makes it a good choice for activewear. For example, it’s often used in skin-tight and compression garments. The only caveat is that it must be woven with other fibers; it can’t be used by itself for clothing.
Nylon: Nylon was originally made as an alternative to silk. Not only is it soft and shiny, but it also has incredible strength and elasticity. Some nylon fabrics are also coated with urethane to repel water. Like most man-made fibers, however, it doesn’t breathe well. It’s also sensitive to high temperatures.
Best Ways to Wash WodoWei Leggings and Yoga Pants
All of their leggings and yoga pants are machine washable. For those who want to be gentler on the fabric, you can also wash them by hand. Both methods will be outlined below.
Method 1: Throwing Your WodoWei Leggings In the Washer
Turn the leggings inside out before washing. That’ll do two things—it’ll expose the dirt and oils that are embedded in the inner layer and it’ll prevent the outside of the fabric from fading and pilling. Next, place them in a laundry bag. It’ll prevent the fabric from getting damaged, especially if you’re washing a mixed load. For one thing, it’ll help the pants maintain their shape.
Double-check that the bag is zipped all the way up and throw it in the washing machine. Add the rest of your laundry. We recommend washing your WodoWei leggings with other activewear such as tights, tank tops, or shorts. Just make sure to sort out the colors beforehand so that you’re not mixing darks with lights.
Take out your Active detergent and measure out one scoop. Add it directly to the drum/dispenser. Be careful not to use too much; that can leave residue behind, which can trap in the dirt. And skip the fabric softener—it’ll ruin the pants’ moisture-wicking finish. Use white vinegar instead (add half to one cup during the rinse portion).
Set the washing machine to a gentle setting and run a cold water wash. Don’t use hot water; it can warp the fabric.
Take the leggings out of the washer as soon as it’s finished running. Let them air dry on a clothesline or rack. You can also lay them flat to dry on a clean surface. Do not tumble dry.
Method 2: Hand Washing Your WodoWei Leggings
Fill your sink with cool water. Add a small amount of Active detergent and swirl the liquid around with your hands to dissolve the powder. Turn your leggings inside out and drop them into the water.
Tip: Stains should be pre-treated with detergent before washing. Using a soft-bristled brush, gently rub it into the area with small, circular movements. Let it sit on the stain for at least 15 minutes before rinsing with water. Repeat if the stain is still visible.
Move them back and forth to work in the soap suds. Make sure they’re completely saturated with the detergent solution and let them soak for 20-30 minutes. That’ll give it time to break down any sweat and dirt.
Run cool, clean water over the leggings afterward. Continue until the water runs clear; the goal is to remove all of the soap suds. If you want, you can also rinse them in the sink. You’ll just have to refill it with water (after draining away the dirty water).
Press the pants against the side of the sink to push out some of the excess water. Don’t twist or wring the fabric while it’s wet as that can cause it to stretch out and lose its shape. If necessary, you can always roll them up in a clean towel—that’ll push out more of the extra water so that they’ll dry faster.
Once you’ve done that, you can hang them up to dry. To speed up the drying process, you can place them near a window, fan, or air conditioning vent. Never use the dryer (remember, you don’t want to expose synthetic fabrics to heat). Also, keep them away from direct sunlight as it can cause the dyes to fade.
Washing Your WodoWei Sports Bras So That They’ll Last
Sports bras can be a little trickier to wash as they tend to be more delicate. Having said that, you can still put them in the washing machine. Alternatively, you can bring them to the sink and wash them by hand. Once again, we’ll be going over both methods below.
Method 1: Machine Washing Your WodoWei Sports Bras
Remove the pads and wash them separately. Turn the sports bra inside out and place them in a laundry bag. This is super important; the bag will act as a physical barrier, protecting the straps and elastic during the wash. Turning the bra inside-out will also expose the sweat that’s embedded in the inner layer of the fabric.
Make sure that the bag is closed properly and toss it in the washing machine. Put in the rest of your dirty clothes and add one scoop of Active detergent. Instead of fabric conditioner, consider using white vinegar if you want to soften up your clothes. It’ll even get rid of odors!
Choose a delicate wash setting with minimal spin and start a cold water cycle. As with their leggings, you don’t want to wash their sports bras with hot water as it can cause the fabric to warp. If anything, this is even more important with the bras.
Wait until the washer’s finished running before retrieving your bras. Don’t leave them inside for too long, otherwise, mold and mildew can grow. Not to mention bacteria.
Hang up the sports bras on a clothesline (avoid hanging them up by the straps) and allow them to dry naturally. Avoid leaving them outside in the sun as that can cause them to fade. Not to mention that the heat can damage the elastic fibers.
Method 2: Hand Washing Your WodoWei Sports Bras
Fill a sink or tub with water and add a small amount of Active detergent powder. Swish the water back and forth until it’s sudsy. Take the pads out of the sports bra and place them in the water. Do the same with the bra after turning them inside out. Gently wave them through the water to work in the soap suds.
Let everything soak for approximately 15-20 minutes. Rinse with cool water afterward until it runs clear. There should be no soap suds left over when you’re finished.
Transfer the pads and sports bra onto a clean surface. Using a clean towel, remove some of the excess water. From there, hang them up to dry.
