I was pretty skeptical about this stuff, but it actually works! Usually, my gym clothes would seem clean after the wash, but after I put them on, I could tell that they still smelled MUSTY within 10 minutes of sitting in class or into my workout. I have tried everything to get that “musty” smell out of my exercise clothes. I sweat…a LOT and work out 5-6 days a week at OTF, which those of you who do, understand how much you sweat during that one hour. tights and sports bras…gross. This detergent works well to wash out the odor/dirt. It does not irritate skin and it smells great! Definitely recommend this detergent for active clothes as well as any other clothes. I’ve starting using it with my clothes as well and I love the smell and clean feeling of it!

Washing your workout clothes isn’t the same as cleaning your everyday clothing. The former has unique properties that make traditional detergent a less-than-ideal choice.
In fact, using regular laundry soap can do more harm than good to your favorite yoga pants or running shirt. For one thing, these detergents often leave behind residue, which traps sweat and oils and causes those persistent unpleasant smells.

i’m giving this product a 3-star rating mainly because the bag is half full. They don’t specify the amount inside, just that it lasts for 90 washes. It’s frustrating that the bag is mostly air; there are about 4 cups or 32 ounces of product. Most of my other laundry products are 46.5 ounces and cost less. On the positive side, this detergent works well, not fading my clothes and eliminating gym odors. While effective, I’m disappointed with the misleading packaging. I wanted to share these details so you can evaluate if the price matches the product amount.

after a year of testing, I’m ready to share my thoughts on athletic wear made from polyester blends, such as jogging pants, shirts, and jackets, which developed a stubborn odor from sweat. I tried various methods like washing in hot and cold water, different detergents, and soaking in Odoban for 36 hours. Despite these efforts, the smell persisted. Clothes initially smelled fresh after washing, but the odor returned within 15 to 30 minutes of wear, likely triggered by body heat.
Switching to Active Wear detergent showed some improvement after two washesand some areas smelled fine while others still had odor. With continued use, the garments became more tolerable, and I was relieved I wouldn’t have to discard them. However, some pieces remained resistant. Occasionally, I could wear them all day without odor, but sometimes the smell returned after just an hour of regular wear. Using regular detergent or someone else’s laundry supplies would bring back the unpleasant smell after one wash. Hence, I titled this review “Not a cure but the best product so far.” I typically use a bit more than one scoop of Activewear powder directly in the washer drum with cold water and a moderately full load.

I needed a detergent that could tackle the sweat smell from my workout clothes. Even after a short wear, that unpleasant odor can emerge. I washed my clothes three times without fabric softener, adding detergent each time. This mostly eliminated the smell, and I’m pleased to report there’s no more sweat scent when I wear them. My only downside is the packaging; the small ziplock makes it tricky to close. I plan to transfer it to a container for easier storage. Overall, it does the job, which is what matters most.

I discovered a “garage sale” at my yoga studio during their relocation and grabbed as many yoga towels (“yogitoes”) as I could. It didn’t occur to me until I got home how many people must have sweated on them. My cleaning routine for gym clothes included TIDE detergent, distilled white vinegar, and Lycol Laundry Sanitizer. After washing these secondhand towels, I took one to a hot yoga session, but just twenty minutes in, it smelled unpleasant…my towel! I searched Amazon for a product that could thoroughly clean my yogitoes. My first wash with the new detergent didn’t go well; the towels had a musty odor, so I tried my usual routine again. After reading reviews, I decided to give the new detergent another chance but with a different method. I washed the towels four times: three cold cycles followed by one warm, using only the new detergent. The results were amazing…my yogitoes stayed odor-free even after a tough hour of hot yoga. I’m glad I researched and changed my approach instead of tossing them out. Now, one wash after each workout keeps them fresh and clean.

I usually dont write reviews, but this product is fantastic. My boyfriend’s old lacrosse shirts had a terrible odor from years of sweat. After soaking them overnight in hot water with a scoop of this detergent and then washing them normally, the smell vanished completely. It also worked wonders on my son’s lacrosse shirts and eliminated the mildew smell from my towels. I can’t recommend it enoughand it’s now a staple in my laundry routine.

I bought this to remove residue from liquid detergent. After using it to clean my sweaty face at the end of the day, it came out looking soiled. The dog bedding also remained smelly and grimy. I have a Samsung top loader that I recently cleaned.

I’ve tried so many detergents that just mask smells, this one actually removes them. I use it mostly on my husband’s function clothes and our dog’s blankets, and they come out smelling like nothing (in a good way).
