More About Dragon Fit
Dragon Fit has been selling on Amazon since 2020. Since then, they’ve attracted tens of thousands of customers, most of whom have left positive reviews on the site. Aside from Amazon, their products are also available from Aliexpress and Walmart (online only).
They don’t have an official website as far as we can tell.
About Their Activewear Collection
Dragon Fit specializes in women’s activewear. Some of their best-selling products include yoga pants, yoga shorts, sports bras, and tank tops, all of which are available in a variety of colors and sizes (XS to XL).
They’re very affordable as well. If anything, that’s what the brand is known for. Take their workout leggings, for example, you can get a pair for about $20, which is fairly reasonable as far as clothing goes. Shipping is also free (if you order above $25) so there aren’t any extra charges besides tax.
Taking Proper Care of Dragon Fit Clothing
The items should be washed after each wear, especially if you’ve been working out. That way, your sweat won’t linger on the fabric. Not only would that lead to smells, but it can actually damage the garment. On top of that, it can lead to unsightly stains.
You also want to be careful with how you wash the activewear. For example, you should never wash the items with hot water; that can cause the color to fade and the fabric to pill. The settings that you choose (assuming that you’re machine washing) are important as well and we’ll be going over that in more detail below.
What Materials Are Their Clothes Made Of?
All of their clothes—from their leggings to their tank tops—are made from synthetic fibers. Here’s a brief overview of the different ones that they use:
Nylon
Nylon is a silk-like fabric that’s known for its toughness and elasticity. Exceptionally strong, it has excellent abrasion resistance, wrinkle resistance, and water resistance. It’s also lightweight, which makes it a great option for activewear. Compared to other materials, however, it’s not that great for the environment. For one thing, many of the chemical reactions used to produce the fiber create a lot of toxic gases.
Polyester
Polyester is one of the world’s most popular textiles. For one thing, it’s strong— much more so than other materials. It also has moisture-wicking properties, which is one of the main reasons why it’s often used to make activewear. However, it does have its disadvantages. For starters, it tends to hold onto odors. On top of that, it’s prone to static buildup. Fortunately, that can be prevented by mixing the polyester with other fibers.
Spandex
Spandex is a soft, stretchy fiber that’s often used to make leggings, tights, swimsuits, and other form-fitting garments. Often compared to rubber, it can stretch up to eight times its normal size without permanently stretching out. However, it’s not the most breathable of materials; it tends to trap moisture on the skin. For this reason, it’s almost always blended with other fibers such as cotton.
What are the Best Ways to Wash Dragon Fit Leggings?
Their workout leggings are easy to wash. For one thing, you can just throw them in the washing machine. Or if you want, you can wash them in the sink with some water and detergent. Before you do, though, make sure to check the care tag label—it’ll have detailed information for how to best take care of the item.
Machine Washing Dragon Fit Leggings
Empty the inner pockets; make sure nothing is left inside and turn the leggings inside out. That’ll prevent the outside of the pants from being damaged by friction. Not only that, but it’ll ensure that the inner layer comes into contact with the detergent, which will help with any sweat stains.
Tip: Consider using a laundry bag. The mesh fabric will let water in and prevent your leggings from rubbing against other garments.
Throw your leggings in the washing machine (make sure to zip up the bag if you’re using one). Feel free to wash them with other items (e.g. tees, shorts, tank tops). Make sure that everything is distributed evenly and loosely.
Next, add one scoop of ACTIVE detergent (assuming you’re washing a small or medium load). Don’t use any softeners. Not only will they make your leggings harder to wash (they’ll trap in sweat and dirt), but they can also wreak havoc on your machine. Consider using white vinegar instead—add half to one cup to the rinse cycle and it’ll soften the fabric and remove any odors.
Once everything is in, run a cold water cycle on a delicate setting. Never use hot water; it’ll cause your leggings to wear out prematurely.
Lay the leggings flat to dry on a clean surface such as a towel. You can also hang them up with a hanger or put them up on a laundry rack. Never tumble dry and never expose them to direct sunlight.
Make sure that the pants are completely dry before storing them away.
Hand Washing Dragon Fit Leggings
Bring your leggings to a sink. Plug it up and fill it with cool water so that it’s three-quarters full. Dissolve 1/2 cup of ACTIVE detergent in the water to create a soapy solution.
Double-check the pockets. Make sure nothing is left inside and turn the pants inside out. Carefully place them in the sink so that they’re completely immersed; you want them to be completely saturated with the solution. Swirl them around a few times in the water, if you have to.
Leave the pants in the sink for 20-30 minutes; that’ll give the laundry detergent time to penetrate into the fibers so that it can remove any sweat or debris.
Drain the sink after soaking. Refill it with fresh water and gently massage the leggings with your hands to remove the soap suds. Continue until there’s no more detergent left on the item—this can take a few minutes (you may have to refill the sink more than once).
Give the pants a final rinse under the tap and remove them from the sink. Gently press down on the fabric to remove the excess water. If necessary, you can also roll them up in a towel. Never squeeze or twist the item—that’ll permanently stretch out the elastic fibers.
Allow the leggings to air dry. You can lay them flat to dry or use a laundry rack or hanger. Either way, you want to make sure that they’re completely dry before putting them away.
How Should You Wash Dragon Fit Tank Tops/Sports Bras
Machine Washing Dragon Fit Sports Bras/Tops
Remove the padding and wash them separately in the sink. Turn the sports bra inside out and put it in a mesh lingerie bag; it’ll help the item maintain its shape and prevent the straps from getting caught while they’re in the wash. Never throw your sports bra into the washer without using a laundry bag—the elastic will stretch out and that’ll ruin its fit.
Make sure that your bra is secured inside the bag and throw it in the washing machine. Put in the rest of your clothes (it’s best to wash their sports bras with other delicate items).
Measure and pour in one scoop of ACTIVE detergent (you can add more if you’re washing an L or XL load). Instead of fabric conditioner, consider using a cup of white vinegar instead to soften the items. As a bonus, it’ll also get rid of any odors.
Choose a delicate wash setting—that’ll minimize the amount of friction that your bra will be exposed to. And always use cold water. Hot water can and will damage the material.
Tip: Don’t leave your damp sports bra in the machine after washing. Take it out as soon as possible; you don’t want mold or mildew growing on the fabric.
Lay the sports bra flat to dry after washing. You can also use a laundry rack or clothesline but be careful not to hang it up by its straps; they can stretch out due to the water weight.
Hand Washing Dragon Fit Sports Bras/Tops
Bring your sports bra to a sink (you can also use a bucket as long as it’s big enough to fit the item). Plug it up and fill it with cool water. Measure and pour in 1/2 a scoop of ACTIVE detergent. Make sure that the powder is dissolved by swishing the water with your hands; there should be loads of soap bubbles.
Submerge the item in the water so that it’s completely saturated. Gently massage the fabric with your hands and leave it in the sink to soak for 20-30 minutes.
Rinse the garment thoroughly with cold water after soaking. You can either hold it under the faucet or rinse it in the sink. Continue until there’s no more soap residue left on the fabric.
Press the sports bra against the edge of the sink to remove the excess water. Let it air dry afterward on a clothesline, hanger, or clean towel. Don’t use the dryer.
