CompressionZ is a new company that was founded by a team of health enthusiasts. Their goal? To help people achieve their fitness goals by providing affordable sports apparel. As you can probably guess by their name, they sell a variety of compression garments from socks to capris pants. They also manufacturer sleeves, which are suitable for a number of sports.
More About CompressionZ
CompressionZ was established after one of the co-founders realized the high costs of compression wear—something that he’d been using to help with shin-splint and injuries. With that, he recruited a team to help him source a reliable product that’s both affordable and effective.
As with most clothing brands, they have an official website, from which customers are able to place orders. On top of that, they also have an Amazon store. In fact, they’ve managed to earn themselves a considerable reputation on the site over the past few years. For instance, their compression leggings have earned a 4.5-star rating from over 2,000 customers!
A Closer Look at CompressionZ Activewear
The brand specializes in compression wear. More specifically, they sell shirts, socks, leggings, shorts, tanks, and more. As mentioned earlier, they also offer a variety of sleeves for the arms, knees, calves, wrists, and thighs.
For what they are, their prices are quite reasonable. After all, compression garments tend to be a little pricier than normal clothes. To give you a better idea, CompressionZ leggings go for around ~$45 while their socks are a little under $30.

Taking Care of CompressionZ Clothing
Their garments are made from technical fibers, which are meant to be durable. With that said, there will still be normal wear and tear. Over time, their clothes will probably fade and start to pill.
Want to get the most out of your money? The trick is to wash them properly. At the end of the day, shirts and whatnot can easily get damaged in the laundry. By taking the proper precautions, their CompressionZ clothing will last much longer. Wouldn’t you want to extend their lifespan?
So I guess the big question is, “how should I wash CompressionZ clothing?”. Not sure about the answer? Don’t worry. We’ll be going over how to wash their different products below.
What Types of Fabric Does CompressionZ Use?
Interestingly enough, the brand does not disclose the type of fabrics that they use for their products. All we know at this point is that they use an “antibacterial, breathable” material” that’s designed for comfort. Given everything, though, the chances of it being a man-made fiber are high.
Benefits of Synthetic Fabrics
- Much more durable than natural fibers such as cotton and wool
- Often resistant to stains, abrasions, and wrinkles
- Less expensive as they’re more readily available
- Designed to stretch in specific ways
- Moisture-wicking properties keep you dry during exercise
- Can be mass produced to fit a set of properties
How to Wash CompressionZ Leggings and Yoga Pants
Their leggings and yoga pants are one of their best-selling products. Can you throw them in the washing machine? What type of laundry detergent should you use? Can you wash them with other garments? Find out by reading the instructions below!
Putting CompressionZ Leggings and Yoga Pants in the Washer
The first step is to turn the leggings and yoga pants inside out. Why, you ask? It prevents the outside of the fabric from rubbing against the rest of your load, which can cause damage. On top of that, it stops lint from accumulating on the surface. Chances are, they’ll also be less likely to fade too. If you want your leggings and pants to last longer, it’s also recommended that you put them in mesh laundry bags; they will reduce the amount of contact between your pants and your other clothes.
You can wash CompressionZ bottoms with other clothes as long as you’re mindful of the colors. In other words, separate light colors from dark colors; don’t mix them together. Otherwise, the dyes can bleed onto one another, which is unsightly. In some cases, it can even ruin your pants.
Load the pants in and add one scoop of ACTIVE detergent. Choose one of the machine’s most delicate settings and wash with cold water. Avoid using hot water—the heat can damage the CompressionZ fibers over time (i.e. elastic can loosen, the fabric can wear out). For the same reason, avoid using bleach. Fabric softeners should also be avoided as they’ll reduce the material’s moisture-wicking finish. In other words, it’ll prevent the pants from being able to pull perspiration from the skin and to the surface.
Wait for the cycle to finish completely. Take your CompressionZ leggings and yoga pants out of the washer (and out of the mesh laundry bags, if you used any). Ideally, you want to lay them flat to dry. However, you can also put them on a drying rack or clothesline. Whatever you do, do not put them in the dryer—the material is not made to handle the extreme temperatures and will deteriorate.
Washing CompressionZ Leggings and Yoga Pants by Hand
You don’t always have to use the washer either. As it turns out, you can also wash them by hand—quite easily too.
Note: You can hand wash CompressionZ bottoms with other items as long as their colors are compatible. You also want to make sure that you’re not overloading the sink—that’ll only make things difficult later.
Bring your pants to the sink and fill the latter 3/4 full with cool water. Pour in a scoop of ACTIVE detergent. Mix the solution together with your hand until bubbles appear. From there, you can put the compression pants in. Press down on them gently until they’re fully immersed in the water. Let them soak for 15-30 minutes. This “pretreatment” will make them easier to wash later.
Swirl the CompressionZ leggings and yoga pants a few times in the detergent mixture before picking them up. Wash the technical fibers by gently rubbing the material against itself. When you’re finished, put it under running water to rinse out the soap. Continue until all of the suds are gone—it might take a minute or two. Place the wet bottoms on a clean surface; be careful of dripping.
Do not use wringing or twisting motions as that will ruin the fabric. Instead, use a towel to lightly press out some of the water. You can also remove some of the dampness by rolling it up. Lay them flat and allow them to air dry—it shouldn’t take too long. As an alternative, you can put them on a clothesline or drying rack. As mentioned earlier, just don’t put them in the dryer!
Taking Care of Stains
Stains will happen—whether it’s from sweat or mud. Don’t worry, though. You can easily clean them out with ACTIVE detergent.
What you want to do is to mix a small amount of the detergent with warm water in a bowl; you should get something that’s like a paste. Apply it onto the stained area on the leggings with a soft-bristled brush—make sure to saturate the entire area. Once that’s done, leave it for at least 30 minutes (longer is fine too).
Check for the stain. Is it gone? If so, you can pre-treat and launder the item as normal. If it’s still there, you might have to repeat the above steps. Continue until the stain is gone.
Note: You can wash CompressionZ shorts, socks, short and long-sleeved shirts in the same ways.
Washing Instructions for CompressionZ Sleeves
As mentioned earlier, the brand also sells sleeves for the feet, wrist, arms, thigh, knees, and calves. Given how close-fitting they are, they tend to absorb a significant amount of sweat. For this reason, you want to try to wash them on a regular basis.
Can You Put CompressionZ Sleeves in the Washing Machine?
The answer is yes. Material-wise, they’re made out of a technical fiber that is machine washable. Similar to their leggings and yoga pants, it’s probably a good idea to turn them inside out before loading them in; that will minimize them from rubbing against other items, which can cause the fabric to fray and pill. It will also prevent lint from sticking on the outside. You can also protect them by putting them in a net laundry bag.
CompressionZ offers their sleeves in a variety of colors. Because of this, you want to be mindful of the dyes when you’re washing them with other garments. In other words, you definitely want to separate the loads according to color (e.g. darks with darks, light with lights).
Add one scoop of ACTIVE detergent down the center of the machine. Choose one of the gentlest settings and wash the sleeves on cold water. Hot water is not recommended as it will strain the fabric and cause damage. Do not use bleach. Avoid fabric conditioners as well; they will prevent the sleeves from pulling perspiration from the skin and to the surface.
Press start and wait for the wash cycle to finish. Once it’s done, hang them up to dry. The material shouldn’t take that long to dry thoroughly. Do not put them in the dryer
Washing CompressionZ Sleeves by Hand
Fill the sink with cool water. Pour in a scoop of ACTIVE detergent and mix by agitating the liquid with your hand. Immerse the sleeves once they’re bubbles. You might have to press down on them to get them fully in the solution. Once they’re in, let them soak for 15-30 minutes.
Swirl the CompressionZ sleeves a few times with your hands before picking them up. You can gently massage the item to get rid of some of the dirt and sweat that might be on the fabric. When you’re finished, drain away the soapy water. Add clean water and use it to rinse the detergent off. Continue until the water is clear and there are no more soap suds.
Place the clean sleeves on a flat surface. Lightly press out some of the excess water using a dry towel. From there, hang them up to dry on a clothesline. Do not put them in the dryer.
Best Laundry Detergent for CompressionZ Clothing
ACTIVE detergent is optimal for CompressionZ clothing. Not only is it all-natural, which means that it will be gentle on your skin, but it is physically capable of dissolving the gunk (e.g. bacteria, sweat, body oils, dirt) that gets caught between your clothing fibers. After all, the formula contains three types of plant-based enzymes!
The great thing about the product is that it will also extend the life of your clothes. Surfactants and chelating agents will put the fibers back to their normal state after the washing is complete!
