When a dishcloth reaches the end of its lifespan, it can be composted.
The natural blend of cellulose and cotton materials will biodegrade in as little as 8 weeks* under ideal conditions.
A warm, damp environment with sufficient oxygen and diverse microbial activity helps improve biodegradability.
These environmental factors can influence how long it takes the cloth to degrade.

Swedish dishcloths are durable cleaning cloths with many different uses. They are a spongy, reusable alternative to traditional paper towels.

Our dishcloths are safe to use on any surfaces including:

Dishwasher: You can put Swedish dishcloths on the top rack and run them with your dishes on a normal wash cycle.

Although Swedish dishcloths dry quickly and have some natural odor-resistant properties, leaving them wet between uses can cause odors.
Yes! The 70% cotton 30% cellulose materials are biodegradable in as little as 8 weeks* in an ideal environment.
Environmental conditions play a large factor in how quickly the dishcloths will biodegrade.
For composting, warm, moist areas with adequate oxygen supply can help improve the biodegradability. The existing microbial environment in your compost can also affect how quickly the cloth breaks down.
