Dragon Fit is a small brand that’s exclusively available on Amazon. They sell various types of apparel including shorts, hoodies, leggings, tank tops, and more.
More About Dragon Fit
As far as we can tell, the company is still relatively new—they’ve only been selling for less than a year. Despite that, they seemed to have earned themselves a reputation with hundreds of positive ratings on Amazon.
Some of their best-selling items include their yoga leggings, running shorts, and sleeveless tops.
What Kind of Activewear Do They Offer?
Dragon Fit offers a variety of activewear for women including padded sports bras, tank tops, compression yoga pants, and sweatpants. Not only are there six sizes (XS to XL) to choose from, but they’re super affordable as well. You can easily get something for under $25.
Take their yoga pants, for example, they range from $22 to $24, depending on the size and pattern.
Caring For Your Dragon Fit Activewear
Your clothes will only last if you take care of them and this is especially true for activewear. For one thing, you never want to procrastinate when it comes to doing the laundry. The longer you wait, the higher the chance of it wearing down prematurely (sweat can damage the fibers).
The way you wash your tops and bottoms matters as well. For example, it’s crucial that you use cold water. While hot water is better at sanitizing, it can also compromise the fabric.
Familiarizing Yourself With the Different Fabrics
Their apparel is made from different synthetic fibers, which we’ll be going over below.
Polyester
Polyester is a synthetic fabric that’s derived from petroleum. Benefits-wise, it’s soft, durable, and resistant to many things including pilling and moisture. It’s also easy to care for in that it dries quickly; it doesn’t need ironing before wearing either. However, it’s not the most breathable of materials. For this reason, it’s often blended with other fibers such as cotton to increase its breathability.
Spandex
Spandex is a lightweight fabric that has extraordinary elasticity. For this reason, it’s often used to make form-fitting clothing such as swimsuits, sportswear, and compression garments. Not only is it versatile, but it’s also soft, and comfortable, and moisture-wicking.
Nylon
Nylon is a soft and silky fiber that was originally created as an alternative to silk. Similar to spandex, it has excellent elasticity; it’s also static resistant, abrasion resistant, and moisture resistant. Not only that, but it’s extremely durable, even more so than wool. The only drawback is that it tends to shrink if exposed to heat.
Dragon Fit Sports Bras: How You Should Be Washing Them
Their sports bras can be machine washed as long as you’re careful and take the proper precautions. Or if you want, you can wash them by hand. If anything, that’ll ensure that they’ll last longer.
Option 1: Machine Washing Dragon Fit Sports Bras
Take out the removable pads and place them in a mesh laundry bag. Do the same with the sports bra after turning it inside out—that’ll prevent the outer surface from wearing down during the wash cycle.
Tip: Feel free to wash your sports bra with other clothes. We recommend washing them with other similarly colored activewear such as sleeveless tops, shorts, etc.
Double-check that the bag is closed and place it in the washing machine. For those who are washing a mixed load, add the rest of your clothes. Don’t hesitate to use more laundry bags, if necessary. Once everything has been put in, pour in one scoopful of ACTIVE detergent (depending on the size of your load, you may have to use a little bit more).
Select your wash settings. For sports bras and delicates in general, we recommend using a gentle cycle with cold water. Avoid using hot water; high temperatures can compromise the integrity of the fabric.
Take out your clothes once the wash cycle is finished. For sports bras, you can lay them flat on a clean surface to dry. You can also use a clothesline or put them up on a hanger or drying rack. Avoid the dryer at all costs—it can permanently damage its shape and fit.
Option 2: Hand Washing Dragon Fit Sports Bras
Fill a clean wash basin or sink with lukewarm water (about ¾ full). Measure half a scoop of ACTIVE detergent powder and mix it in to create a bath. You may have to swish the water a few times to help it dissolve.
Prepare your bra. Take out the removable cups and place them in the sink. Next, put in the bra. Remember to turn it inside out beforehand. That way, the dirty layer will be exposed to the detergent. And make sure that everything is completely immersed in the solution. Gently press them down with your hands if you need to.
Swirl the sports bra around a few times in the sink; that’ll help remove any loose dirt or oils. Once you’ve done that, leave it in the sink or basin to soak. Wait approximately 15 minutes before rinsing with water. We recommend holding it directly under the faucet. Gently massage the fabric as the water runs over the item.
Tip: You can also rinse the bra in the sink. You just have to drain away the dirty water and refill it with fresh water.
Don’t wring or twist your sports bra. Gently press the excess water out instead. You can also use a towel to absorb the excess moisture. Once you’ve done that, lay it flat to dry on a clean surface such as a table. You can also use a clothesline, drying rack, or hanger. Just don’t expose it to direct sunlight.
Dragon Fit Leggings: Ways to Wash Them
Option 1: Throwing Dragon Fit Leggings Into the Washer
Check that there’s nothing left in the pockets. Once you’ve done that, turn the leggings inside out. Not only will that expose the inner layer, but it’ll also protect the outside from fading and wearing down. For an extra layer of protection, consider using a mesh garment bag. Place the leggings in, zip up the bag, and throw it in the machine.
Put in the rest of your clothes (ideally, you want to wash them with other sportswear) if you’re washing a mixed load. Next, pour in the ACTIVE detergent. One scoop should suffice unless you’re washing many items, in which case, you may need to pour in a little bit more. And as always, you want to skip the fabric conditioner. It’ll coat your leggings with a waxy layer, which will trap in sweat and make them harder to clean.
Select your wash cycle. As a general rule, you want to opt for a delicate or gentle setting; it’ll ensure that your leggings won’t get damaged in the process. And always use cold water. Hot water can cause the fabric to warp and that can affect their fit.
Let the leggings dry on a clothesline or drying rack after washing. Do not tumble dry. Do not leave them outside in the sun.
Option 2: Hand Washing Dragon Fit Leggings
Turn on the faucet and fill a washtub or sink with lukewarm water. Measure ½ a scoop of ACTIVE detergent powder and pour it in. You can help it dissolve by agitating the water with your hand.
Place the leggings in the soapy solution after turning them inside out (remember to empty the pockets as well). Swirl them a few times and let them sit in the sink—they should be completely submerged in the sudsy water. Press down on them with your hands if you need to. Leave them in there to soak for up to 20 minutes.
Pick up the leggings and rinse them under the tap for a couple of minutes. The goal is to remove all of the soap residue. You can also rinse the detergent off by draining and refilling the sink with clean water. Either way, you want to continue rinsing until the garment is free from soap suds.
Press the water out of the leggings gently. If necessary, you can roll them up inside a clean towel—that’ll effectively get rid of the excess water. Finally, hang them up to dry on a clothesline or drying rack.
Dragon Fit Shorts: Washing Them Properly
Option 1: Machine Washing Dragon Fit Shorts With Other Activewear
As always, you want to start by emptying the pockets. Once you’ve done that, turn the shorts inside out and place them in a mesh bag. That’ll protect them so that they won’t get damaged while they’re being washed.
Put them in the washer along with the rest of your laundry and add one scoop of ACTIVE detergent powder. Select cold water and run a gentle wash cycle. Let them air dry on a clothesline or drying rack after washing. Do not tumble dry.
Option 2: Washing Dragon Fit Shorts By Hand
Fill a small bucket or sink with lukewarm water. Create a soapy solution by mixing in half a scoop of ACTIVE detergent. Turn the shorts inside out and place them in once the powder has dissolved.
Let them soak for up to 20 minutes before rinsing clean with cool water. There shouldn’t be any detergent residue leftover.
Finally, let the shorts air dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. For example, you can hang them up on a clothesline or use a laundry rack.
